There are many application techniques that will provide patient protection and comfort while immobilized. Adhering to the application fundamentals will Help ensure patient compliance and satisfaction.

• Adhesive away from the skin - Smooth side on skin
• 50/50% coverage of material
• Extra protection in areas where fiberglass meets the skin (ends of casts around fingers, toes, etc)
  
• Extra protection around bony prominences and other areas requiring more protection
