Hipster Pantaloons are made with waterproof ePTFE, a smooth, breathable membrane, facilitating the cleaning of urine and excrement from the skin. Residual moisture evaporates through the liner, keeping the skin healthier.  The use of a Hipster Pantaloon Liner, either with traditional padding or with waterproof padding, reduces the need for recasting, eliminating the costly expense of an additional round of anesthesia and a trip to the operating room.

USING WATERPROOF ROLLS ON HIP SPICA CASTS

​In addition to upper and lower extremity fracture care, providers use AquaCast Rolls for their body casts, including hip spica, shoulder spica and other body casts. The AquaCast Rolls are applied directly against the patient's skin to provide a waterproof and breathable layer of padding under the fiberglass outer shell. While some surgeons prefer to use the AquaCast Hipster Pantaloon Liners for their spica casts, there are facilities which utilize the rolls with no pantaloon with great success.
